Jamie Van Camp

FOUNDER & ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Jamie Van Camp is a Theatre-Maker and educator with physical theatre training from Canada, and Graduate-level training at Dell'Arte International. He is also a recipient of the Leadership U One-on-one grant funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation provided by Theatre Communications Group. Jamie has directed, performed, & taught nationally & internationally for over 15 years. He believes theater should be accessible to everyone & has a distinct focus on bringing professional theater to rural areas. Jamie has trained in Shakespeare, Commedia Dell’ Arte, Clown, Acrobatics, and more. As Artistic Director of See The Elephant, Jamie is focused on bringing exceptional theatre experiences to rural areas and creating platforms for artists in our region. In addition to See The Elephant, Jamie is an adjunct professor at Folsom Lake College. He is also a teaching artist with Clara.

Tiffany Van Camp

CO FOUNDER & PROGRAMS MANAGER

Tiffany Van Camp is a theatre and dance maker & co-founder of See The Elephant in 2018. She earned her BA in Dramatic Art with a Dance Emphasis at UC Davis and her Masters in Education & Single Subject Teaching Credential at National University. She has training in ballet, modern, and contemporary forms, as well as improvisation & choreography. Her deep love of all performing arts forms has led to a focus on collaborative projects that live in the crossroads between theater & dance. She is passionate about providing dance opportunities in rural areas, where there is very little exposure, and promoting accessibility to the performing arts. Tiffany’s work lies at the intersection of the arts, education, and wellness.

Gavin Sellers-Norman

ARTISTIC COLLABORATOR

Gavin Sellers-Norman is an Adjunct Professor of Acting at Folsom Lake College & California State University Sacramento. Gavin’s education includes; a BA in Theatre Arts from Sacramento State University, graduation from the Professional Training Program at Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre, and professional Mime and Contact Improvisation Training with PILOBOLUS and PUSH Physical Theatre Companies. In addition to being an independent working artist, Gavin is also an avid LGBTQIA+ advocate in the rural community of Placerville, CA founding and producing The Limelight Variety Show (2022-Current), a monthly cabaret bringing queer voices and the art of drag storytelling to Placerville CA, founding and producing APPLECORE Fringe Festival (2017-2018 ) bringing over 21 unique original theatrical productions, emphasizing queer experience and leadership, from all over the US to several venues in rural Placerville, CA. His most recent work includes: Stage Property Manager / Choreographer / Puppet Master for Folsom Lake College’s production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest. He has been a Movement Director for many of Folsom Lake College’s productions including: Marat Sade, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and Pippin . More community inspired past projects include: Puppetry Artist for The Fox Witch, The Bluebird, And The Story of Stumptown thru See The Elephant Theatre Company, and Puppetry Expert for Studio 81’s productions of Metamorphosis and The Little Mermaid.

Casey Ellis

ARTISTIC COLLABORATOR

Casey Ellis is a multi-disciplinary artist from Placerville, CA. His artistic interests include film, theatre, and music. Casey has been a long-time teaching artist at the Crocker House Creative Center in El Dorado. His experience also includes working at the local Boys and Girls Club, providing music and theater opportunities for youth. Casey was the Director of Photography for See The Elephant’s Traveling Tales program.
