See The Elephant presents Gold Hill Samurai, a play based on the life and history of Okei San and Japanese Settlers of the Wakamatsu Tea & Silk Colony during the Gold Rush Era.

Written and directed by Jamie Van Camp, this play will be performed on-site during the 150th Anniversary Wakamatsu Festival (WakamatsuFest150).

EDHS Studio 81 & See The Elephant present, Cloront, an original play created by the Collaborative Playwriting class of 2018-19. This performance is a culmination of a partnership between El Dorado High School Studio 81 & See The Elephant Theatre & Dance Company. This project is made possible thru El Dorado Arts Council and California Arts Council.

About the play…

When Jane wakes up and finds herself in an unfamiliar place, her first instinct is to follow the rules and avoid confrontation. What seems like a typical high school day begins to transform into something that forces Jane face to face with the things she is most afraid of.

Join us for an enchanting event of a live poetry reading from her recently published The Lumberjack’s Dove accompanied by a shadow play. Gennarose’s performance will be followed by a Q&A with the author/artist.

Special performances by MerryGold (Music), Afton Parker (Poetry Performance), & Gavin Sellers.

IMPRINTS, a new dance work created by Tiffany Van Camp with collaborators Cleo Deorio & Olivia Schlanger, will be presented during the Applecore Fringe Festival this September. IMPRINTS explores what it is to emerge as a woman in an ever-shifting cultural landscape.
